Monday 29th of September 2008, Tiefdruck-Musik proudly releases the newest “battleship” out of the smithy from Jason Suecof (Trivium / Chimaira / DevilDriver) and singer Lennon: DEVIL’S GIFT. Lennon (Lennon Murphy) is very active in the American music-scene. Born in New York and raised in Nashville, she signed her first major recording contract at the young age of 17. Her debut album “5:30 Saturday Morning” was produced by Steve Thompson (Guns N Roses / Metallica / Korn) and released by Arista Records on 9/11/2001. The video clip for ”My Beautiful“ (taken from Lennons debut album) breaks out onto U.S music television. MTVs Anchorman, Kurt Loder: “Its refreshing to see a girl that is 1) not blonde 2) not stupid 3) able to write her own songs and 4) actually plays an instrument.” But Lennon doesn’t want to be looked at as a “pop-girly”, she began her first TV-interview with the words: "I feel way more comfortable at a truck-stop on the road, than seeing myself on MTV". Lennon attracts a generation of young teenagers who want something else as other than “Britney Spears” or the fifth “Christina Aguilera”. Four days after her 18th birthday Lennon’s mother died suddenly because of a coronary in row of an allergic reaction. So Lennon gets confronted with the situation that her eight year old sister Mariella shall move to her rowdy father. It starts a two year long lawsuit about the custody between Lennons father, her aunt and herself which in the end Lennon wins. Still 10 years ago Lennon attends to these theme on the new album.
